I've just found a webpage with a lot of models of great quality for free. If the model is copyrighted, they advertise you that is made by EA for example, but the rest are for free:

I just took a look and downloaded Nala (lion). It`s Walt Disney and of course not free. But an excellent base to work on, if you need somthing similar wink

hm, take a look at the link-model (from the legend of zelda) and compare it with an ingame screenshot like this: http://i.i.com.com/cnet.g2/images/2006/234/928519_20060823_screen003.jpg

either this model is really good modelled or ripped of the game
the website looks suspicious. the models are located in rapidshare (password protected), the website is easy made and thereīs no impressum.

great models, but i would them only use in projects that you wonīt publish or as inspriation for own models

The models are wonderful, and I could use them, but I think, it is better not to use them - there are no credits on the models.
For example this warmachine: Warmachine looks similar to the Defiler of Warhammer 40k - but there is no notice anywhere.

I love the tanks on this site, but I overcome the temptation xD

edit: I read on the chat-box on this site: "models were submitted by users and you can see the credits within each file. some form EA games some from other games and free meshes"

Yeah but I think they advertise, look at this: http://gfx-3d-model.blogspot.com/2009/09/nanosuit-3d-model.html They say model from Crysis, also in the Link model they say Link from Zelda

You should only use the models as placeholder, i found this site before, but didnīt told, because most of the models are from games, but just with another skin.

As placeholders or prototyping these are great, but as everyone said before, dont use them in any final release!

(I'm gonna rig some characters from this to use in my ragdoll demo :D)

I know such sites, it is all ripped off from games or portals and illegal.

And when you ask questions about this illegal behaviour then they delete these messages within a few hours from the chat log.

I would rather download free models from portals like 3DRT, Gamebeep, TurboSquid or Dexsoft.

Models, Textures and Games from Dexsoft
