Just wondering. Since MD5 format uses 6 bytes per vertex per frame instead of the 12 bytes MD7 format uses, and since MD5 is an older format, is it wise to use MD5 format to reduce memory and file size usage of a player model? That is, if I have a 2000-vertex animated model with 100 frames, MD7 format would use 1.15 megabytes of disk space and memory, but MD5 format uses around 5.8 megabytes instead for the animation. Is it wise to use the MD5 format? What limitations are there in the MD5 format that the MD7 format has (besides no support for bones animation and less precision with vertex placement)?
