There are animals that are 'sort of' immortal, it's called ""biologically immortal" and means cells that do not age;

There are organisms with cells that do not age (or at least incredibly slow), so from the perspective of living it's not that impossible actually.

However I guess it's not quite right when you look at the definition of 'immortal'. ""Immortality" implies, an inability to ever die." A lot of these organisms can still die, they just tend to not die of old age,
