well VR does include (stereoscopic) 3D. That's one of VR's main features. What I'm talking about is that videos (which are only 2D) don't look very compelling in VR since you don't have any depth. All you can do is project them onto something in 3D space (like a sphere for 360°-videos or a plane for normal videos).
