I don't think it's about importance.
Considering the fact, that the picture above most likely was created for the typical private internet user having some fun with Windows, it possibly makes sense to try to explain the picture by looking at the Windows Releases for home PCs tongue

While several more experienced people may have had their home installation of Win2000, this for sure was not the standard case. Microsoft itself considered Win2000 back at that time too resource greedy and bulky for home use - this is why they kicked in WinMe which only came to existence because the real goal of merging their product lines was coming late and happened later in form of WinXP.

And of course - matter of opinion.
I just had the same thoughts (every 2nd Windows seems to be crap - a simple reminder which up to now worked perfectly fine for me grin ) today at work and needed to waste time. So I thought about the same question which came up here: what about NT?
