Unity 5 looks promising as well, they put a lot of effort into the engine as well.
I think it can get much cheaper with Unity if you buy a full version (1500$) instead of leasing UE4 with 20$ per Month and 5% off your revenues of the games.

So let's wait for the future, maybe Source Engine 2 will happen these days at the GDC as well...
