It works fine running at 25-120fps, but below 20-25fps the game gets unplayable.

I've already tried several times to create a fitting look for the outdoor levels, but they all looked pretty bad. Yes, I've made the tree in MED - that took a whole evening though, and thus I'm currently not willing to create another one for more variation.
