My modem is a UMW190 Verizon Wireless dongle modem and I typically get a speed of about 256 kb/sec. Usually in super-optimized games like Quake, my best ping times are 150 ms, but when connected to servers halfway around the world, they are about twice that amount... Hence my latency of about 300 ms.
