hm... yes, the ball would have to pushed into the water with quite some force at the bottom. didn't think of that.

about finsrud's machine... i guess it's just well machined and quite long running and he sneaks in at night and gives the ball a push or something like that. kind of like a pendulum clock. didn't they just need one push a day too?
