I hope this isnt off-topis, but how the hell can I get onto this server?

From what I can figure, it LOOKS like you need a PAID minecraft acct in order
to get Mincraft running enough to punch in an IP address. Im not willing to go paid at this time.
I can play the primitive freeware one, but cant "get into" the new one at all...
I could be BADLY misunderstanding here though, it all seems a bit blurry...

Any advice, instructions, or links to help-pages, WILL be appreciated...
