oggMedia is a plugin which allows you to play ogg theora videos without the need to install any strange codecs on the user computers.
It works with any a7 edition, even the free one.

ogg theora is a completely free video codec. You don't have to pay any license fees for using it and you don't violate any patents when displaying some videos. The encoder turned better in the last month, though it still can't compete against H264, but its as good as DivX.

The plugin uses streaming for displaying video or playing audio, so it doesn't need much ram. Also it uses threading for decoding, this way you can benefit from multicore cpus when playing several videos. Video decoding uses a simple pixelshader for color space conversion (pixelshader 1.4, supported by Geforce4ti or greater (not geforce4 mx), or radeon 8000idontknow) which greatly reduce cpu processing.
In fact it is fast enough to display 4 hd ready (1280x720 pixels) videos at ones on my pc (pentium d820, geforce6600).

The plugin also allows you to playback a different audio file along a video file, which is great if you have different audio tracks for different languages and only one video file.
