Zula

This is not my game, this MMOFPS AAA title is created with A8 Engine by Turkish developers MadByte. I just found that this fantastic game is not in showchase.

The game is free and can be downloaded from the website

AFAIR sadly one of the devs said they simply don't want other people to play it but have a mostly turkish audience.

I haven't played it yet but from a graphics perspective I think it looks fine/ good enough. The weapon feedback and handling could be a tad better but hard to judge from watching a video.

I don't know how big a deal game development is in their home country , but I suspect that they are a bit patriotic ,because of a possible lack of game development over there , I can see how they're company can rise up to fame with perhaps being the only local game dev. success around in their country .

I think it looks great (and I haven't played it also) , I like clean clear crisp graphics and no over yellowed shader bombarded effect-try-make-it-good looking thing, what they have done with the crispness is my opinion of good looking graphics , there's in general a strive towards realism in the graphics field , whilst being a good thing let's not forget were stil dealing with a game .

that would be like FYI for most around here ,not just me.

I couldn't find the English button on the forum , anyway I think it's most likely the best looking first person title made on gs , and being able to say that its just one of a few (the few I know of) successful titles that came from the gs suite , is a sad sad thing .

Well....it seems, that it is possible to create a good game with 3DGS? lol
It looks amazing!
But who knows, how much time they needed for this game ;-)

I think in less than two years, but it seems that this guys are perfectly familiar with engine.
I must say that I am very surprised how the game works on my PC which is quite outdated. The graphics are great, reminds me on Crysis 2. Very interesting but I never got such good framerate in my game, with the models of similar quality.

, I think that's also cause acknex misses some advanced graphics/shader stuff that would optimize heavy games (e.g. high poly fps game) but decrease performance on old pc's even if the games made are low poly & low res. Atleast, that's what I read here so don't quote me on this (but it does sounds quite logically to me atleast).

, ofcourse, its just harder in most cases to achieve good graphics.

Tremendous!

The final proof that is not the engine itself which lets you make great games.

I've been playing for an hour and high latency has not prevented me from enjoying as a kid. Those small sceneries make the front line so vibrating!

My sincere congratulations to MadBytes. I am dead with envy shocked

Well I think comparing this to Crysis 2 visually is kind of a far stretch, but as you say your PC is quite outdated so I figure you had to play Crysis 2 on very low settings.
This here has really solid graphics though, around 2007 2005 this might still have been regarded AAA quality, which is a pretty amazing achievement with Acknex. Plus, I personally think the slight Acknex touch that is still visible is quite charming.
More importantly, the gameplay looks really good - I couldn't help but be reminded of CS:GO during the footage of the sniper gameplay (mainly because the player was acting exactly like you would in counterstrike, with the fast switching to the knife to shorten the fire intervals).

EDIT: Well on second thought some of the textures really are very low resolution. Still very pleasant to the eyes all in all.
