Hey Mythran,

most of the textures are hand painted, yes.

About texture tips, first thing is to buy a graphics tablet! without tablet its quiet hard to make nice natural hand painted textures. Just watch some textures from games and try to paint like them! With some exercise you will soon get nice results!

I have the tablet for a long time laugh
I'm trying to get this texture for a week now.. By seeing other exemples. But i find myself always getting something quite bad.
I'll keep trying. Nice to know i'm on the right track. I'll PM you when i get something not so bad, so to speak, and ask for your review if you don't mind.

Thanks a lot!

@mythran, just keep practicing. use varied brushes, with various amounts of jitter, and random rotation, layer textures, and always keep in mind what the natural wearing on a surface looks like.

Hi all!

Finally after many hours, days, month and years hard work on the game, we published first game demo for summer contest 2013.
http://igravision.com/games/battle_for_forgol.zip

Story:
Quote:
Land of Forgol was once a free country, with good roads and full bars. It was a time when dragons sailed across the sky, and giants walked the Earth. It was peaceful, without war, people were living in harmony and help each other. But it was over. An evil wizard has recently revived the spirit of a fallen evil Lord, who was many years ago along with his five military leaders tried to win the whole Forgol, in what was stopped by people from the West in association with willows and dwarves, led by Prince Riger. They were pierced with a five blades, forged by hands of dwarfs, deep in the mines of the northern hills. When lord was defeated, in their honor, powers of darkness have made a five large stone statues in south Forgol, a designed purely for their looks. The evil wizard who magically managed to revive their lost souls and the bodies placed in the stone statue, brought not remembered evil into Forgol that even he could not control. High statue built in the image of the evil lord and his men, revived, now immortal stepped into this world, and brought never more terrors in the land Forgol. Forgol was on his knees, and the last hope lies in the five blades that are only can kill them. The burden falls on young villager Iglarion, and there began his great adventure ...

I sent a demo almost one hour before closing the contest, and we do not get time to make better user manual, i forget put some more important tips about game.

- You can choose one of 3 possible languages: Deutsch, Serbian and English (English is still in beta stage)
- I strongly recommend a gamepad
- Saving game works when player sleep in house
- You can recover your health after sleeping, after victory in battles or with healt pontions
- I recommend saving game before you enter in second cave
- If you win in openworld battles you will recive golds, exp, hp, mp,.. if you escape you do not get anything
- Use jump back to escape enemies attacks and press attack button more times for combo attacks
- Do not run away from the enemies, defeat them and become a stronger
- If you read carefully what peoples talk, you should not have any problems to solve all puzzles.

For playing game you must have card with pixel shader 2.0, minimal screen resolution is 1024*768 and your PC need to play ogg sounds. If someone have problems with playing, game crash, maybe bugs or anything, please let me know.

Looks great.

But, i think the flickering effect of fire lights is a bit to "nervos"/fast.
Maybe you can test how it looks when it's slower/more subtle laugh

Greetings
