We're making steady progrss:

- the walkthrough using Bernard has been finished
- the walkthrough using Michael has been finished
- the walkthrough using Wendy is at 90%
- all other walkthroughs are at about 70%

- the finetuning (remodeling / retexturing ...) has been finished for 2 rooms
- remodeling / reanimating / retexturing of Dave is in progress

- some bugfixing was done

Currently we are polishing all rooms up.5 of them got already new textures and some additional objects.

At the same time some bugfixing is done, side-quests and some small but fine improvements are added.

The first 5 rooms were retextured and enriched with many new details. Now they are looking far better than the old screens which are still on our homepage and in the alpha demo.
The remade parts of the house give the player more the feeling like there is really someone living there.
Beside new textures and models I worked on cleaning up the room-models from unseen polygones which brings a good performance boost to the new rooms and in the end to the whole game.
My personal goal is to get the level of detail of our 3D enviroment close to the 2D backgrounds of the later LucasArts adventures (e.g. Monkey Island 2, Indy 4). For performance reasons this won't be fully possible, but I try to come as close to it as I can without "overfilling" the well known original rooms with useless stuff or lowering the FPS. I'll just add a few things per room which would fit to it and make the textures more detailed.

We added a hotspot function that highlights all useable objects in the current room by pressing a key.

The Outside look of the Mansion was Redone, and looks much better now.
Some parts were remodeled, and the whole thing got a new Textur with a higer resolution then the old one. Many small things were added to make the house look more old ( like the edisons stopped to clean and fix it 20 years ago, after the meteor crash )
Broken windows, cracked wooden parts of the haus and nature crawling up the house for some years.
All in all it looks more Creepy now.

Have been following your updates for a long time now, looking forward to play the finished product. But when do you think the game will be released? and will it be for free?

I realy cant say when it will be released, becouse i dont know how many bugs are still in there and how long it will need to fix them, and the charakter models must be remade completly, so i think it will need some time.

Yes, it will be free. This is a fan project for fans and also for those who haven't played Maniac Mansion yet.

Alhtough we can't tell you a release date right now, we're on a good way. Scripting has been nearly finished (some minor things to do) and our beta testers have begun their work.

If we fixed the "broken staircase" ??? This is something we keep secret :-)
