"World Of Dice" - formerly known as "Running Food"

Dear Community! smile

We are proudly presenting our game "Word Of Dice" and hope you enjoy it.

Formerly the community has known this project with its WIPs as "Running Food". You can see its development over the time in that thread:
Running Food Thread

Small introduction:
Quote:
"World Of Dice" is a game for the whole family.

It's about puzzle dice which come alive.
The dice have to catch food and feed, in order to survive.

The dice struggle for survival and they rely on you - every single day!
An unyielding sun burns their life force away.
They hunt food, but eat it all at once and it does not last until nightfall.
You have to capture and protect the food, so that its numbers can increase.
Only then will it be enough for all the dice. The dice fight against each other for their food. If one captures some, the other pushes it out of his hand. Some dice are trapped, others too slow to catch their own food. They too have to survive the day. If the sun goes down and the moon shines all dice are safe.

Liebe Fangemeinde! wink

Finally! smile

This project has caught me since I´ve seen it the first time.
Congratulations, I know how much work you´ve invested!
My part was about 0.000001% compared to the rest. wink

@all: You can expect an incredible amount of detail in this game. Anything fits together very well.

no science involved

I guess the trend lasts since Swift's "Gulliver's Travels"! wink
There always been games from the mouse's perspective on the forums, too.
I love that! Great, that you like the screen shots. Don't miss to have a look at the video, at least! smile

Huh?

But anyways i like seeing the trends change, in the project section the latest trend seems to be side-scrolling/top down view games

And tbh the sun in the first screen did it for me smile

Thank you! Nope, that's the narrator, Dan Silverman was so kind to make that job!

Cool, any chance you might spill the secret of the camera code and how you made the side of the model transparent, instead of just the whole model transparent when the character was behind them?

It is quite complicating and it is difficult to separate it from the other code, for a contribution I had to re-write it to get it usable. 3 of 4 parts are written by Gnometech - you can find a very old camera tutorial in the Acknex Resources site.

The character doesn't fully get transparent - I wasn't aware of that - probably it looks in the video like that, but it shouldn't. BTW, the characters always consist of two models, the die and the part with the hands, feet, eyes.
