Demo of "Tower"

Download the demo (28 meg download) DEMO

Tower is a fun game for the whole family. A game where you can shoot lazers and rockets have massive explosions and nobody dies. You learn how to play Tower very quickly but may never fully master this 3d puzzle game.

Screenshots below

I'll have a webpage up for tower very soon. While it doesn't say it in the help documents, you can press H for help and you can also use the controller to play the game.

Tower is Copyright 2005-2006 Foxhound Production

Very nice! It is a great feeling, to get parts of the tower collide with a big sound! The view onto the tower is well chosen too!

Some tips for improvements:

- First and most important, don't tell the gamer all items and options at once!!!! The gamer wants to play not to read!!! Start with a simple level! Add, each level, one of the special items!! Which you explain with a picture that flys into the screen and leaves after hitting any key!

- Simple grey of the buttons and the 'canon' doesn't fit to the colourful tower. It should at least look like stainless steel or platinum, or give it a blueish touch or a transparent rainbow over the whole surface.

- The music is not nice enough for a family game! It is too sort of 'brutal' to the ears.

- Even the looser should be awarded for his efforts with a view onto the frozen tower where he can imagine, how he failed, which blocks he missed to destroy in time, etc.

So far about the main things that would make from a nice game an even better and a hopefully more successful game!

Congratulations!

Ok, I know Tetris and Quake, but never heard of Arkanoid.

I was off to La La land as soon as I made this post, so i knew I would forget some stuff.

The music is just place holder for now. Just something to give the feel and get some feed back like this one. BTW, thanks for the constructive critism. I need this more then anything.

lol i loved this game =) i agree with the button comment, as at the moment parts of them are missing aswell. One thing that i found distracting was that you couldnt see the corner blocks at the back.. but then i guess that cant really be fixed. btw what does "combs 5+" or something like that mean lvl3?

edit: my bad didnt see the "pan the tower" ect keys

It means "Combos of 5 or greater" So a combo of only 4 won't cut it, but one of 6 would.

Arkanoid (1986) was a remake of the good old "Break-Out" (1978)

That's the skill of it. Blast some blues to make the red on top fall on the red on bottom and build them up that way.

The orgianl version of this had 7+ combos and you had to get 100 to finish that level. My great friend, relentless beta tester and the guy who made all the graphics in the game except the sky cubes, was able to finish that level (that's what I love about skill games, you can be better then the creator of the game itself).
