Is it possible to submit special order types such as Market on Close and Market on Open via the IB plugin?

Obviously these order aren't supported directly, but I thought I might be able to use a workaround, such as sending a market order at a particular time in order to participate in the opening/closing auctions. I suspect however, that the plugin will return a "market closed" error. Anyone tried this?

I am curious about this as well. Have you ever figured out a way to do this?
Just issuing a market order at the open/close time isn't the same thing...

Market on Close and Market on Open order types are not supported, but I think they can be indeed simulated by sending a market order right before the close or after the open.
