I'm planning on running Zorro in the background on an old laptop but have already downloaded and installed it on my main.

Launching Zorro on the spare now returns an error since the software is tied to my main (as my research would have me believe).

Is there a way I can untether the license to this first machine and run it on the second instead?

I've tried uninstalling from the second, and reinstalling while the main is off and it still isn't working. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance for any info.

It seems to me that you can download as many free licenses as you want.

This would make sense yes, since it's free after all. But according to the Zorro Manual under the "licenses" chapter:

"You can trade only with a single Zorro, only with a single account, and only on a single PC or VPS. For trading with a multitude of Zorros on multiple accounts or on several servers you need a Zorro S license. Corporations need a Zorro S license per installation; please contact us for license bundles."

Which leads me to believe that I'm being blocked on the second machine, because of the first.

When I try to run Zorro on the second machine I get the unhappy face in the top right of the chart to tell me it's not working, and "Error (see log)" in the top left. The log reads:

"[Account number] previous successful authorization performed from [IP address]".

I only want one instance of Zorro, I just want it on a different machine than the one I currently have it installed since it's recently decided to start making grinding noises from the fan and I don't very much fancy listening to that running in the background!

Did you try with a new Zorro download?

Yes. I've completely uninstalled it from the second machine and reinstalled it while the other wasn't running and it still gives the same error message.

Coincidentally I'm switching broadband provider today so will uninstall Zorro from both devices and hunt for any associated files and get rid of them too. Then once the provider has switched I'll download Zorro to the second machine first and hope this solves it.

Will update with my results when I'm done.

As far as I know, Zorro has no code to check the number of installations. So the problem is caused not by the Zorro license, but by something else.

It sounds like you are describing the MT4 bridge, but your description of the problem is extremely unclear.

Make sure to install the MT4 bridge 100% correctly. Follow the steps down to the letter.

By the way, the MT4 bridge is free to use in demo mode, but you need to get the Zorro S license to trade live.

SOLVED
Despite having already done this, I found that going into Tools>Options and unchecking and rechecking the DLL settings somehow fixes it. Wouldn't have thought this would change anything but hey.

Thanks for the heads-up. I plan to test around for a bit with the demo and work on some strategies of my own with Zorro, and will buy a license if I have any success.

I'd also like to help out wherever I can with the Zorro community but not sure what I could bring to the table right now with my relatively low programming skillset. Will carry on reading and tinkering for now laugh

Thanks all for your help
