Dear all, please see below the answer from Oanda: ------------------- Hi, Thanks for your email. We do not have an official partnership with Zorro trade so this is the first time I heard of anyone using their application to trade with us. I am curious, are your providing your personal access token to the Zorro so that it can access your account? According to new European regulations (as interpreted by our European compliance department), clients who are registered with OANDA Europe is forbidden from trading through a non-OANDA platform unless the third party is FCA ( https://www.fca.org.uk/) regulated. Thanks ------------------- Dear all I have Oanda account and just wanted to clarify, if I can continue to use V20 REST API if I am EU Oanda client (domicil UK). I just want to use 3rd party App Zorro Trade to to execute trades on my Oanda account via V20 REST API. I am asking, since there is currently some confusion because users are not sure if the API trade execution restriction (see below) are valid also vor V20 REST API: “On 16 December 2017 Oanda is required to restrict API trade execution from 3rd party platforms for European clients (Motivewave, TradingView, Seer, MultiCharts, etc.). You may still use a 3rd party platform for trading analysis, however, you will no longer be able to execute trades on 3rd party platforms that execute trades via an API. Your OANDA account enables you to execute trades through OANDA proprietary platforms or MT4. This change is required to enable OANDA to meet the anticipated regulatory requirements at the beginning of 2018, and consequently for you to be able to continue to trade with OANDA.” Thank you for clarification

Not an official statement, but a logical assumption - the country you pay taxes in is probably the one that applies to you. European Union countries are: Austria Italy Belgium Latvia Bulgaria Lithuania Croatia Luxembourg Cyprus Malta Czech Republic Netherlands Denmark Poland Estonia Portugal Finland Romania France Slovakia Germany Slovenia Greece Spain Hungary Sweden Ireland United Kingdom

oP group is affiliate of Oanda since 2016. We have been informed by Oanda Europe that nothing will change with the V20 API trading on the current accounts. Only trading functions of the V1 API will be discontinued effective January 19, 2018. But platforms such as Tradingview have been required to discontinue their API trading altogether.
Obviously the statements make not really sense and contradict each other. I'll try to get some clarification. If the V20 API really goes belly up in 2 days, you must switch to the MT4 bridge. This is the reply from Oanda customer service received today. It seems that that we will kicked out. Ca Zorro ask for an official reply from Oanda? Thank you. ------------------------------------- Dear xxx xxxx, Thank you for contacting OANDA. Yes, you are correct. On V20 this feature will be disabled. .....................................

Translation: "If customers already use the v20 API, nothing changes for these customers, unless the customers use platform such as Tradingview, MultiCharts, Motivewaves, etc., since these are required to discontinue their API. The V1 / Legacy API will only be discontinued, and customers currently using it will be upgraded to v20 on January 19th."
Different Oanda representatives have different opinions about what that means. We are of the opinion that the MiFID 2 definition of regulated platforms is already fulfilled by the V20 API, and that Zorro is not required to terminate Oanda V20 API support. Of course Oanda can terminate it on their end. But it didn't happen so far.
