@Uhrwerk you mean the shader?

I can upload a little demo if you want.

here's a little demolevel with the water shader.
The shader doesn't support skies, yet so the it renders incorrect if you look at the sky.
But at least the depth and refraction renders correctly even if you're underwater laugh

In the demo you can move the camera with WASD, Space, Ctrl, Shift and change the waterheight with the mouse wheel.

@Ch40zzC0d3r
I'm sorry but I didn't finish it yet.
It's a bit harder than I thought and I've got some problems making it work properly.

well it's not the right thread to discuss this but yeah, I saw it and I don't really know what they do.

But a DoF with customizable start and end points for the fading should do it.

Thanks for doing demo! :-) It looks pretty good. Unfortunately it renders pretty slow on my machine. I guess my GeForce 8800 GT isn't really up-to-date. I noticed there is a pixel seam around polygons before the water. It's pretty well noticeable when you look down though the arcs on the water surface. Are you aware of this?

Last edited by Uhrwerk; 02/04/13 22:52. Reason: The seam has gone away after a machine restart... O.o

I guess you meant the refraction of objects above the water and the pixel noise it causes on its borders like on the left side of the pillar in this screenshot:

(click to see in full resolution)

It usually isn't possible to fully compensate this because the shader is just rendered in screenspace.
...but I was able to almost compensate it (right side of the image)

@Kartoffel: how does the shader specify the surface? Is it just a heightvalue?
