This feature is really nice, however if the trader needs to keep the history updated so that the automatically retraining works, then whats the point? It is ok with api but not with mt4 to download all the required history

For that you can use the UpdateDays parameter.

True but you will need to have history at the history folder wanyways. With mt4 you cannot update much far.
Anyways I suprissly found that by retraining Z strategys working on mt4 account, the data is loaded from my fxcm account.
Is it by default only configure for Z strategies or is it so by default in general? If not, how can it be configure in this way?

The broker connection is stored when Zorro is closed. So you could open a Zorro instance, select FXCM, then close it again and the retraining will then download data from FXCM. At least I think so. Try it.
