Yet another example of Steam community in love with hearing themselves talk and review. Their continue high standards, were FREE is to costly for their time.

Maybe there are lessons to be learn in this. However early access is a bad idea. Funny thing is, this game could be release 1 year from now with improvements and they'll all shell out $20 or more to own it and denounce their negative reviews.

Steam has a high level of targets in the 16-24 and 24-30 year old markets. The bottom are very flippant and given to changing their mind.

Standards of gamers are pretty high, doesn't seem to matter much if something is paid or free. Than again, I do have seen many shitty companies releasing their games free-to-play or very cheap and lateron you learn to know that they stole assets from commercial games or fired their workers without paying etc, so I quess free has gotten a bad rep. Same goes for early access, they are companies that take advantage of early access and than suddenly release their game while still in alpha-state. In middle of this are some hardworking companies (indie or not) that get penalized by this.

Personally I also think that reviewers should be forced to explain why they upvote or downvote a game, but how do that is more difficult.

I've never tried but thought early access is good for developers to get more feedback before the final release to decrease the risk of bad reviews, when the game is basically ready, only tweaking, minor bug fixings, and game rule balancing is behind. "Too early access" is of course a stupid thing, a small closed group of testers must be applied before moving further, I don't know why Steam let them to do it.

, yeah not meant to bad mouth early accesss. Just need to be careful not to go to early in it. Its more like a 2nd beta access.
