I believe I had two orphaned trades with Meta 4. Firstly, Zorro said it couldn't open two trades. Then I looked into Meta 4, using IC Markets Demo account, and two trades were open, that were not registered with Zorro.

I read the manual, and closed the trades manually, but I was wondering if this is a real possibility with Zorro and Meta 4 and IC Markets? If so, is there a way to prevent it in the future?

Yes, with MT4 there is fortunately a way to prevent orphaned trades, or at least make them highly unlikely. This is not used in the current MT4 bridge, but in the next update, which will contain a new and much improved bridge.

Could this as well have a message through metaquotes?

I've been running 3 Z-systems simultaneously on MT4 for nearly a month now and I'm yet to see an orphaned trade. Is there something that contributes to the likelihood of one occurring?
