A new Zorro version was uploaded:

http://server.conitec.net/down/Zorro_setup.exe

A description of the new features can be found here:

http://manual.zorro-trader.com/new.htm

Please also read the part about updating your system. The included Z systems work with the free version and with Zorro S. Z system subscribers will receive new Z3 or Z12 versions in the next days.

This Zorro version can use the R environment for trading with neural networks, support vector machines and other machine learning algorithms. We'll post a tutorial about that in about 6 weeks.

Hi! Thanks for the update.

I've tried to follow the manual but cannot get the 1.32 version to test or train or trade my Z12 script (I purchased Zorro S).

I get this message:

Z12 ..
Error 061: Compiled with different version!

I think it is looking for a Z12.c script, but the closest I have is a Z12.x file. I don't know how to recompile a script.

I copied over my entire /Data, /History, /Log and /Strategy folders from 1.30 to the new 1.32 installation in order to keep my trades and preferences intact. I understand I need to update my history files with the latest 2015 data, but that should not affect the testing or trading?

Should I have received updated Z12 and Z3 scripts if required to work with v1.32 ?

Many thanks
Simon

The error you received tells it all....you are trying to run a version of Z12 that was compiled with an earlier version of Zorro. Instead of copying everything over from your old version's folder, use the new version of Z12 that comes with the 1.32 download package.

The Z12.x file is the Z12 system compiled to a machine-readable executable. Any strategy file with the .c extension contains the human-readable source code. The compiled versions are used when you want to distribute a system to others without revealing the source code.

Hope that helps.

Yes that makes sense, thank you.

I assumed the update only applied to the zorro.exe file itself. No wonder it all went wrong.

Thanks also for the .x and .c explanation.

Hi chepstow. To keep your old version around (for final backup, comparison runs, or whatever), reverse your process. I.e., (after you've exited Zorro) first copy the 1.30 folder to a new 1.32 folder, then second install 1.32 Zorro into the 1.32 folder.

If you're really curious, you can then also compare the folders to see which files the install updated, and confirm your strategies, Log files, etc. were not.

HTH.

Where're parameter charts after training in Zorro 1.32 ?
I read in manual
"Training now plots all parameter charts in a HTML page..."
but there's no chart in html log.
and there's no png file in Log folder.

I noticed in History folder that there's a .bar file called Stock. That is new, what stock is it?
