I wanted to give the Z12 strategy a shot and started on a demo account (thankfully!). After some days, Zorro crashed and now it's telling me "Trade # not found", "AUD/USD Trade 12 not found" (there has never been an aud/usd trade from zorro), or even "CT Trade # not found". After it loaded the latest symbol, it crashes. Aparently, all open trades are orphaned at the moment. How can I fix this? I wasn't able to find something related in the documentation / forum. I attached a screenshot.

Do not continue trading with a system that crashes. First find out the reason of the crash. Forget about the open trades and close them manually. Your *.trd file was damaged during the crash, so delete it from the log folder. Post the end of the .log file here. It might tell us what happened. Otherwise I'll give you further instructions how to find the problem.

Thanks a lot!

You didn't specify which log file I should post.

This is the Z12demo.log:

Trade: Z12 portfolio 09.12.2014
Trade 0 not found
Trade 1 not found
Trade 2 not found
Trade 3 not found
CT Trade 4 not found
Trade 5 not found
Trade 6 not found
Trade 7 not found
Trade 8 not found
Trade 9 not found
Trade 10 not found
Trade 11 not found
AUD/USD Trade 12 not found

Doesn't look useful to me? I checked the other logfiles and didn't find something that looks crash related. Deleting the *.trd file solved the problem temporary. The system is running stable hardware and operating system wise.

That was the log that I meant, but it is of course useless because you've started Zorro after the crash, thus overwriting the old log.

For determining the problem, please follow the procedure described under "Troubleshooting" in the manual. Edit Z.ini, set Verbose=30, then start the system again and wait if it crashes again. In that case please post the last 20 lines of the z12diag.txt here in the forum.

Ok, let's see if it crashes again. If I take the system live, would I be able to resume trades by making constant backups of the *.trd file?

Yes, but only the trades that were open at the time of the last backup. The *.trd file becomes damaged when the crash happens just at the time when Zorro writes into it - we will use a method that prevents this in a future version.

At the moment Zorro can resume it's trades, but I got the same problem as right before the *trd file became damaged. The whole windows is reduced to almost the size of the buttons in the upper right corner. This happens every 24-48 hrs. Screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/22ehqod3k4kkd6z/zorro%20crash.JPG?dl=0

During this state, Zorro seems not to monitor its trades (Trade externally closed, SL hit)

Did this also happen before the other crash? And do you have some third party window manager or similar task running in the background on your PC?

Can you post the diag.txt?

I can't fint the diag.txt. Verbose is set to 30. I can't remember if the problem looked exactly before like now, with the minimized window. But I find zorro in a non responding state almost every time I'm looking at it, however it does seem to trade.

I have Teamviewer installed with it'S special display driver to lock the screen when my system is accessed remotely. Other than that, I don't have a clue which third party software would mess with the window. My system is relatively slim, just office, Metatrader and some tools like Dropbox etc.

The easiest way for me is probably to pack zorro in a virtual machine, but I'd be glad to help you debugging.

The diag txt is in the Log folder and starts with the name of the script. You can find details in the manual under "Troubleshooting" and "Verbose".
