Hi jcl. I haven't seen this discussed in the manual, so thought I'd mention it as a potential addition, assuming I'm understanding correctly?

It appears the AssetsFix.dta included with Zorro is in EUR. If one's account is in a different currency, this leads to inaccurate Test results. In the case of a USD account, the Test results seem to be 10% or so too optimistic due to understated Margin, and whatever else.

The solution is after install or upgrade to run Download to get an Assets.dta in the account's currency, and then copy Assets.dta to AssetsFix.dta before Testing.

HTH.

Hi guys,
after downloading Assets.dta with download script, I've found that:

there are Margin differences between in some assets:
(NAS100, SPX500, UK100, US30 and XAG/USD)

between a demo account from FXCM-UK and demo acct. from FXCM-AU, (both acct. in EUR currency):

SPX500 margin FXCM-UK= 8.000
SPX500 2053.10 0.50000 -0.0883 -0.0883 0.1000 0.08821 8.000 1.0

SPX500 margin FXCM-AU= 12.000
SPX500 2052.63 0.50000 -0.0883 -0.0883 0.1000 0.08822 12.000 1.0

seems that it's important to update Assets.dta for the selected account to test or trade (and copy it to AssetsFix.dta - this is obvious).

Happy trading laugh

Yes. All accounts and brokers are different, so for precise results you should simulate the account that you really trade.

Hi jcl, next friday there's a change in margin requirements,
although it might a have minor impact in Zorro, if I update assetsfix.dta with the new margin requirements, does zorro catch them without restarting ? or even better, does it use the realtime values provided by the broker ? Thanks

It uses realtime data, so the new margins should be effective immediately, if they are correctly updated in the broker API. I hope this will be the case. AssetsFix is only used for the simulation, not for live trading.
