thanx, yes I've seen already in the Unreal forum.

whooohooo! First I have to try it on my laptop. But the next days I will pimp an older machine for rendering.

Sadly I have much work today and get home at late evening.

But hey! Now I have access to the engine.

Speedtree is now in 4.3 https://www.unrealengine.com/blog/unreal-engine-43-release but costs another monthly 19 USD http://store.speedtree.com/product/speedtree-for-ue4/ and exported models can't be used with other engine. fortunately it does not require continuous subscription similarly to the engine.

the visual behaviour tree editor is magic laugh

Just played 2 days with UE4 and did the programming tutorial. This mixture of Blueprint (Drag & Drop programming) and C++ is weired, I'd prefer to do it all in Visual Studio. But nevertheless, the result looks nice (visually) and the game templates a great.

I agree.
probably it is made for a team, where programmers do the game core in C++, and artists and level designers i.e. non-programmers can fine tweak things by blueprints, ratchet would be very satisfied with it laugh

Are you kidding? That blueprint & c++ mixture is awesome. Blueprints have stuff like constructors, and interfaces and events and stuff -not sure maybe even inheritance-. For me it would be like do only necessary stuff in c++ rest in blueprint.

I think one just has to get used to it! laugh No I played around with C++ and the Unreal SDK some more and find traps everywhere. The weiredest thing is that I can run some C++ - Functions when playing the game in the editor but I cannot use them when I publish my game. I'll keep investigating wink

maybe because platform specific stuff?

and yeah, it requires more organized design and programming. and learning blueprints is a must, fortunately it does worth the time... if you have enough laugh
