Anyone mess up with 3d stereoscopy? ( except anaglyph shader, a briliant idea & work from forum member named Slin, anyway )
A real one 3d (side by side, up-down...), implemented in some aaa titles like Crysis...?
There is some software named TriDef. I tried it, and it`s working great with 3dgs, but it`s a 3rd party tool and it`s not a freeware.
There are a several different technology to achive 3d effect on certain hardware devices.
Active and pasive tech. are the most common. The pasive technology is cheaper but still give us very good results.

I would like to talk here about "pasive" one.
The lucky owners of pasive monitors or tv`s, will understand the need. Something like that will put 3dgs on next level! laugh

Is it possible to do it with a script?
The idea is to split display in two. Each part of the screen must display the same picture but from different angle (point of view).
One part of the screen is for left eye, and the other is for right eye.

I am convinced that here we have people, with knowledge to achive this task.

This would be pretty cool to see if you could get it to work right... otherwise I could imagine it being slightly distracting...

2 views work but it's a bit tricky to get the positions and angles right.

I made an anaglyph test some days ago, works almost exactly the same.

Kartoffel, can you write template for two views that worked?
The views must move simultaniously, and act like one, driven by mouse and keyboboard.
I have LG3d fullHD monitor for testing and fine adjusting the pans and distances of cameras. (hope not go blind laugh )
Problem is:
If we have 1920x1080 res. = 960x1080 res. per eye.
The whole 1920x1080 picture must be shrinked horisontaly ( not cut )to fit 960x1080.

i dont see a possibility to shrink the images without using a shader, sorry.

I don't understand that sentence, is there anything that speaks against using two views with size_x = 960 and size_y = 1080? This shouldn't be a problem at all.

afai understand it he needs two 1920x1080px images scaled to 1920x960px, which is not possible with size_x

so both images actually have an aspect ratio of 16:9

Changing view.aspect should help then.
