I have been trying Z4 on a real account with a small amount (ca. 200 EUR) via the FXCM API for a few weeks now. So far, everything seems to work as expected, there have been three trades. All trades have been short.

However, Zorro keeps showing messages like this:

[EUR/CHF::L] Skipped: Total Margin 0

Today, for example, all the previous short trades had been closed, but the above message appeared several times in a row. Are these messages normal? To me it looks like Zorro wants to open a long trade, but doesn't for some reason. Since there were no other trades open, I cannot think of any good reason why the long trade should be skipped, while the short trades were entered normally (intuitively, as long as we are close to the artificial lower boundary of the EURCHF grid, short trades seem more risky to me than long trades).

The Z.ini file looks like this:

NFA = 0
FXOnly = 0
MMax = 100
Phantom = 0
Comma = 0
Mute = 0
Weekend = 2
Verbose = 6
BrokerPatch = 0
Preload = 0

Hmm, this message normally means that you don't have enough free margin on the account, so no more trades can be opened until previous trades are closed.

Can you check in the FXCM Trading Station how much free margin is left? It's displayed under "Account".

Thanks for replying.

Since Z4 closed all the short trades, there are no open trades. The free margin shown is the same as the account balance (which is somewhat above 200). The margin should not be the problem, I think.

You're right. This was in fact a bug of the Z4 script: It added the trade risk to the margin, which resulted in a too anxious trade behavior, and fewer trades.

We've replaced the script. You can download it separately here:

Hey I tried using that new script but it's saying it was compiled with a newer version and won't run. I have version 1.20.1.

Edit: Just saw there's a newer 1.22.1. Does that one have the same newer script you posted here?
