I've bought quite a few of them -- fantastic value for money, and the amount of attention and money they bring in is great for the developers and the causes they're donating to.

It has also been really good for the Linux gaming community, since Humble Bundle games must support Windows, Mac, and Linux -- many games made their Linux debut when they joined a Humble Bundle.

If only GS had cross-platform support I think GS should support Mac and Linux before worrying about Android -- Unity already has a strong place in the mobile market, but doesn't support Linux, so this would put GS at an advantage in PC gaming.

I see Humble Indie Bundle as a great piece of evidence that a patronage system like the one used during the Middle Ages would work much better than our current system of intellectual property, for although Humble Indie Bundle does not give the consumer the right to copy the games he purchases, it shows that even if the user is given the ability to choose how much or how little he pays, the developer can still make a reasonable profit.

The patronage system didn't work out very well during the middle ages for most artists because both their connections and potential market were very small (not many people could afford art or even wanted it then), but now that we have the internet, I really do think it is very feasible. Think about it: the development of games, videos, music, art, and science could all be funded by those people who are interested in it until it is finally released to the public for free. It wouldn't be socialism, as the creators would make a reasonable profit (depending upon how important society believes their progress would be), but at the same time we wouldn't have to deal with intellectual property "rights" which simply trample other basic human rights and stifle innovation.

I second the Linux option, maybe this we we could actually get our games known to the public AND do the good thing for charity!

Linux is great for gaming nowdays. I`ve got a little netbook with C-60 chip and Ubuntu 11.10. Ubuntu has a "software center" similar to Apple iTunes where you can find apps, games and stuff. Games and apps can be sorted by rating and installed by one click which is really cool and easy. Developing games for Ubuntu would be awesome. There`s free and commercial stuff in there.

I have to disagree. Although id like it I still think android would be a better start since I believe tablets are about to replace pc s as common place.

I think the actual direction of the computer market is superbooks [or how they are called, those thin and fast ones] and not tablets. [I got an iPad2 and I do not even like gaming on it ]

Agreed. Games on mobile devices will always stay on gaming-on-the-go genre, because of the touch input and that these devices are mobile devices. People game on these devices on small time frames. No one sits on a touch-input mobile devices and play rpgs(skyrim) for hours.

Anyone saying tablets will replace PCs or consoles are wrong. Thats not even an opinion there. Not because the tech isnt there, it is, but because the AVERAGE custoemr does not care. Tablets are for early adopters and tech freaks. Everyone and their Moms have a PC, Linux or Mac system including grandma and auntie Annie. Do try to sell a 400+$ Tablet to them. DO try. Not gonna happen.
I myself couldn`t care less about a tablet. I dont need a tablet, I wouldnt know why I need one. I dont like gaming on tablets, i dont like watchign anything on tablets and i sure as hell dont like working with them. I have two 24" full HD screens at home and a 47" HDTV. I have an awesome surround sound system, PS3, Wii, pretty good PC that plays the games I am interested in in the best graphics settings.
WHY, WHY! would i want to reduce all of this to a tablet that has a tiny screen, an uncomfortable usage, costs a shitload of cash and cant do most of the things i want, including but not limted to real 3D gaming, surround sound, giant sceen, multitasking, HD youtube...
Because its on the go? i dont want on the go. I want to be at home when I do that. when i am on the go, i wantto be on the go, away from all of that. and most people, especialyl in europe, agree with that. they have smartphones already, they dont need no tablets.

so al in all, linux and mac support is WAY more important than tablets...
