Sounds like he is using simple cubic environment mapping to project the textures on the sphere.
The point of the technique I used on this 'cube' is, that you can theoretically add it to any arbitrary shaped model. The result depends on the triangle topology of the object only. wink
As you can see the first version is a simple wireframe texture following the edges of the polygons.
The second one draws lines which connect the midpoints of the triangles.
The bottom versions are basicly combinations of the first two. laugh

So I woke up yesterday ok, and then as the day wears on I begin feeling really cold and weak. No sore throat or nose issues, just complete weakness. The same thing happens today, where I start up ok and then plummet.

So now at 8:00 PM in the evening, I find out I have a fever and a body temperature of 101.7 degrees.

Whoopee...

Redeemer: I take it you're not measuring your temperature in Celsius or Kelvin?

Is that much of a surprise that americans use fahrenheit? They even write the date in a stupid format and the NSNumberFormatter class insists that -100 needs to be written as (100) for them.

(wtf?!)

JustSid: No I kind of hoped it was Fahrenheit. That temperature in any other measure would be a bit worse news.

Uh, yeah, the measurement is in Fahrenheit. If it was anything you could be sure I was dead.

Ah hah! I spend a lot of time with Europeans online so I've trained myself to use a universal format that anyone will recognize:

2011/04/13

As for the temperature, I suppose Celsius would've been better to use, but I was simply directly reporting my thermometer's reading. wink

EDIT: I've thought about this before, but Americans are notorious for having nonstandard or out-of-date measurement systems that require translation for use in anything practical (inches, feet, degrees Fahrenheit, MM/DD/YY, etc.) I've always believed that the cause for this was our geographical location; in the years where these measurement systems were replaced with better systems, we were out of contact enough that we just kept the old ones. We missed the update, and now our society has suffered as a result. frown

IMO they ought to start teaching American students how to read lengths in meters, temperatures in Celsius, and dates as YYYY/MM/DD, etc.
