It's an updater for games, which is nearly fully customizable.
The tool is very easy to use, you need only three files on the client(the game which is to be updated) and some files on the server.
The server has to provide a http acces and a file system that looks like this:
There is one file called vlist.php. This file contains a string that lists the revisions. The revisions are separated with a ,.
Example: 1,2,2.1,2.2,2.3
Then you need files called versionXXX.php. XXX is the version number like version2.2.php. This file contains a list of files, seperated by |. Subfolders can be included in the filename.
Example: data.res|player.mdl|sound\heal.wav
At least you need a folder for each version. This folder is called versionXXX. The name is exactly the same as from the php file above.
Now you need to configurate the GamestudioUpdater.exe.config. This is the config file for the Updater itself.
The file is a xml file, but it's very simple to edit:
There a sections called setting. Each setting has a name and a subtag value.
You can edit the value which stands in the value tag.
The names of the subsection and their meaning:
UpdaterURL The adress where the vlist.php and all other files can be found
UpdaterPath A relative or absolute path where to copy the downloaded files to.
AppTitle The title of the Updater. It's shown in the small window and the message boxes.
VersionFile The file where the actual version is stored. Also a relative or absolute path.
FinishedMessage The Message which is shown if the updater has finished. Can be multilined
AskForGameStart The Updater shows no information box, he asks if he should start the game right now.
GameFile If the updater should start the game, this is only! the executable file of the game. Can also be a URL to open a website
GameParams The parameters which should be given to the starting game

I hope i explained the tool enough, so you can test it. I had set up the Updater, so you can test it with only one click!
Start the "game" which is included before the Updater and after you started the Updater. I hope it works!
