i've searched everywhere for this, no results.
The project i am working on requires a bones animation, i've tried lots of different ways to export them, but no good results
the only exporter that actually exported bones was pandasoft x exporter, but after applying UVWs to my model it splitted vertexes from 544 to ~1088 and then even more than 3000. In a mean time abusing whole animation and model.

anyone wants to share the trick to get bones to work? any commercial exporters?

Hi, it's me again.
I have good news for you, i found how to transfer models from 3DsMax to Med
with bones animation, UVW mapping coordinates and without vertexes splitting.

To do that you'll be need: 3DsMax, max2ms3d_v112 plugin for 3DsMax,
Milkshape3D(if you don't have it, it costs only $25) and Med.

If you need this max2ms3d_v112 plugin, just pm your email to me and i will send it to you.
Are you interested?

How to transfer model from 3DsMax to Med.
1. Create your model in 3DsMax, make your UVW mapping and animation.
2. Export your model to .ms3d format using the max2ms3d_v112 plugin.

3. Open exported model file with Milkshape3D.
4. Export your model to Milkshape3D ASCII format file.
5. Open Med and import the Milkshape3D ASCII file. (imported model should have bone animation and UVW mapping, but the vertexes will be splitted)
6. In Med, open skin editor and export Skin Mesh To ASC.
7. Open your model in 3DsMax, apply planar UVW mapping and repeat 2,3,4 steps.
8. Open Med and import the Milkshape3D ASCII file(with planar mapping).(Now your model should be without splitted vertexes, it will have bone animation, but the UVW mapping will be planar)
9. In Med, open skin editor and import Skin Mesh From ASC.
10. Now your model is finished.(It will have bone animation, your created UVW mapping and no splitted vertexes)

I hope this will be useful.

Is it possible to convert bip animation into ms3d bones animation too. If so tell the procedure please.

My answer is yes, it is possible.

The .bip file is a character studio biped's file which contains the animation and figure of the biped.
The max2ms3d_v112 plugin can export both: standard max bones and biped bones as the ms3d bones.

So, all what you need to do is:
1. Open your model in 3DsMax.
2. Create a standard biped.

3. Select your biped and open motion panel and click load file.

4. Select your .bip file and press open.(now your biped should have the animation, it may change it's figure)
5. Click figure mode and rescale the biped to fit your model, then skin your model.

6. Now your model is ready to be exported.(before exporting don't forget to unclick the figure mode, because the biped will be in its figure mode in all frames)

I have asked my friend to try, as he has 3dsMax and is going to supply me a model. Dont know if it worked, as I haven't heard from him yet.
Btw thanks for the guidance.

That plugin is for 3DsMax.
I have Milkshape3D 1.7.7, but i think that the exported files should work with any version of ms3d.
