Hi!,

This is my first project and I work on it about two and a half months.
The Track Editor will be avialable to download on my Web Seite maybe next week. :grins:

What is Track Editor ?

Track Editor is a FREEWARE editor for Windows98, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
You can create tracks and just drive on it.

Some features of Track Editor:
Painting tool - with this tool you can draw on the terrain, create paths/roads,
set texture to all option, deform terrain tool - with this tool you can deform the terrain,
create hills/mountains/gulches, deform time speed option, object tool - with this tool you
can create objects on your track, object tool supports: MDL/WMB/BMP/PCX/TGA,
delete/rotate objects option, change object size option, main track tool - with this tool you can create checkpoints/the AI-Line and other important things for a race track,
at the moment there is only the set start position option aviable, hotkeys,....

FREEWARE for non commercial use !

Here are some pics of the editor:

In this pic you can see the start position of a race. The red point on it, means in which direction(pan) the player start to drive.

This shows you a wonderful village.

In this pic you can see, how Im driving the track.

And thats my favourit pic.

Thats all for now. More pics you can see on my web site.
C & C is welcome!

Mfg,
beegee

This reminds me of the freeware racing game called GeneRally. I'd be interested in trying this game out

Cool stuff. But the whole disadvantage is the per pixel basis. Polygon-wise track editing would be better - but this would require another routines and so forth

Did you ever thought about spline integrationt to draw on the surface?

Oh, man... this sounds totally awesome. Just do me a favor... PLEASE tell me how you did this! I need to create a track editor - I can do the models okay but could really use help with terrain deformation and saving the modified terrain.

Nice concept. I'd still like to see someone tackle an editor that made model/map entity based construction as simple as Dan's Arch-E. It works for it, but the grid is too small to really go to town on it. I envision something using splines and then when you click create/generate, it uses the splines to construct the road. A sidewalk feature would be nice, too. I guess it'd be like Maple3D's MAX MAP utility.

Yes, thats my hard problem. Two models are from me, the rest are from these guys:
Teagon Morison, Jeff R. Frazer

Has anybody good models or is good in making models? I need a lot of 3D-Modellers.
Everybody will be on my credit list.

You must think I dont use any textures. I explain it to you:
I draw on this terrain. Like an paint programe. The textures are all at random. Every texture isnt the same. The problem is the Terrain Skin Resolution:
I use 2004x2001. The other problem is how should I save it.

BMP: 11.4 MB 2004x2001
PCX: 376 KB 2004x2001
SRT: 420 KB 2004x2001 Thats my save format.

My save codec is: I save only every ninth pixel. And thats why is it so pixelize.

Yess, the user will be able to import models, map-entitys, sprites and maybe sky-textures. On the pics are at the moment no sky. But in the End version there are.

If you make some features, you must look how to save it.
What do mean with spline integration? Can you explane it to me in german?

Ok, If you want to help me, I help you. Have you good models?
The next pics shows you how I deform the terrain. At the moment I havent not many time.

Yess, I think a lot about my 3D-Graphics. Programming and 2d Panels are from me.

A sidewalk feature is also implemented.

Thanks, for the good reply. Any other suggestions?
