When I try to publish my new game, The Lost Dutchman Mine 3D, the CD folder has many files missing.
I tried different ways of setting the paths.
I eliminated the sub directories and dumped all the files in the work folder.
Do I have to use "bind" for every file in the game?
That's about the only thing I haven't tried.
There are 360 files. Is there a limit? I know you can't have over 40 wdl's and I have less than that.
Two weeks of trying to publish this, I'm still not getting all the files.
The missing files are arbitrary--sometimes pcx, other times wav or models.
I never had this happen with A5. I'm using A6 standard. Can some kind soul shoot me and end my misery?

I have never published because I have a team edition, but I think you have to write all filenames between <>. String player_model = <player.mdl>;

It's the only thing I can think of.

Just click and drag the missing items into your .CD folder and after everything is in there it will work right.

Or like you said, you could use bind but I'm not to sure how well it works while publishing. It should work and bind all the files you want into the .CD folder, but it seems you have a lot of items to have to do that too.

So either click and drag, or bind. Your choice

But....why is it happening?
I am hoping to hear a reason as well as a solution.

You may want to try using:

level "levelname";
All entities from this map file are automatically included into the published game folder or the resource.

bind <filename>;
Only for special purposes; all files given between angular brackets will be included anyway. You can define any number of bind files.

Using bind may be redundant, I am not certain. I use both bind and level and I have not had any problems with missing files.

Thank you, Jason. You're my hero. That was exactly was was needed. I went back to the manual to see how I could have missed it. I had searched under publish, include, resource and bind, but I didn't look under level since I didn't perceive the problem as a level problem exclusively. The manual is clear on it when you look in the right place.

Now I have to try and glue my hair back on.
