Hi all,
I'm currently running the demo version of 3d GameStudio, and was considering buying the Commercial or Pro edition of the engine, but i've come across a few disapointing problems...

First: I made a level on an Athlon 64 3000+ and when trying to build it said installation incomplete.... i tried it on a P4 2.8ghz and this also said the same..
I moved to a laptop..a P4 3ghz and although it built, when playing it there are no textures! This was really putting me off the program as it does look excellent in all other aspects..
Last, I tried it on a Celeron 1.2ghz with intergrated graphics, and this worked fine.

I don't want to buy the engine and sell games if its not going to work on half the machines....

Can anybody help, mainly with the texturing problem ASAP?

Cheers,
RichW

Did you download the demo from Conitec or did you find it somewhere else?

I clicked the link off the Conitec site, but I have a download manager and this may have had referals from other websites....
Is this the most likely cause? Has this ever happened to anybody before?

'Installation incomplete' is not a normal message of the trial version. It's normally caused by a hacking attempt, or when a Gamestudio file is copied elsewhere - for instance when you copy the engine executable onto a CD or into another folder. I don't think that a download manager can be the reason. Or maybe it wasn't the trial version that you've tried?

This is for those who do not know yet.... hacked/warez versions of gamestudio do not hardly work, if at all... theres no point in tyring, you'll never get a good product out of it, theers too many limitations to have any fun with it at all...

If Theres a problem with the download from the Conitec site, delete the old copy, and try downloading again normally (no DL manager, just in case you have a problem from that)

Also, a lot of laptops don't have the graphics capability to run the engine correctly... my perfectly working level did not show textures either on my friends laptop, and his was brand new and 'high end'.

If problems persist, feel free to contact Conitec directly, they are very helpful, and don't want to see bugs/errors from their software. They will ask all the right questions to figure out your situation whatever it may be...

Gamestudio is not dodgy, it flippin rocks!

Just try again, thats all you have to do

(How was that? Did I do good? )

If you wanted a simple trial, then just get it the simple way...

Turn off your download manager (just to be safe). Download the trial again.

It should install flawlessly.
