It is out !
The price is now 179 $
But no royalties and source code.
They have put some effort in the FPS tutorial indeed.
Like i aid in previous post i don't like they way of advert 99$ then make pay everyone to get the 1.2 version frown
Too much commercial !
And i hated graphic bugs , or problems with advanced lightening, Shadows beeing too strong, and coming too fast depending on some sun orientation.

But well it is possible i think to achieve cool things with hard work, the new level demo shows it and you can try it , it's available for download !

T3D 1.2

They are going a good direction , let's wait for next version ? next price ? next features ? remaining bigs and not so good advanced lightening / Shadows in some cases or in transitions ?

$49 upgrade price is not bad but still, although nothing such promised, one expects to get all 1.x versions free once they buy a license.

Hiya.

[sarcasm]
Yeah, $50 per upgrade. Sheesh! I could either buy a $50 upgrade to 1.2, or I could upgrade my A7 Comm to A8 Pro for $750. ... er... waitaminute.... Well, I guess I could upgrade Torque again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again... or just get upgraded to A8 Pro.

Hmmmm....

[/sarcasm]

My point should be obvious...but just in case... The point is that upgrading $50, even at, say 4 times a year...it'd *still* be cheaper to do that for over 3 YEARS than to upgrade my A7 to A8. IMHO, Conitec needs to *seriously* crank up the competitiveness of what A8 can offer, or *significantly* reduce their prices...by like, a factor of 5 at least.

Anyway, I really hope Conitec gets back on the horse with A8 REAL SOON.

For T3D :
The company should be clear , and say how many updates they plan , and the price.
Not hangging the customer by surprise saying :
New version is here, spend some more 50$ if you want it !
Specially when customer didn't know it.
That's somewhat like forcing them to pay because they need the next version frown
They should be transparent at least, and not taking decision, that don't let lot of choice to customers.
I think if they continue that way, some of them won't appreciate and turn back to another 3D engine !

That's a particular case for you !
Not all people can buy the Pro version.
For a lot here , that know they perhaps not reach production or selling a game, the commercial is really enought.

I think Pro should be purchased once you found some publisher or once you have succed to sell one game, than why not saying
"ok i know how to go from making to selling and i done it, so now let's do another game but with better features of Pro version"

Well it's just my way of thinking in game making.
Indeed anyone can direcly buy Pro version if they want all Pro features now directly !
