Apon adnormal termination, MED is left in system memory. I did not know about this problem until Windows stated it needed more virtual memory. Also when importing fbx "Not sure on other formats" faces is spelt wrong. "In MED it is spelt fases instead of faces".

Well, if you mean the situation of a crash: if a program crashes - for instance, by loading a damaged model - it has other problems than caring about to release its memory. In fact, a crashed program won't do anything at all. Otherwise it weren't crashed.
