Too bad, that there isn't much time left to reach their funds.

I think there are some very cool ideas in this game, but I think I see why it is not (as yet) getting the support it needs over at KickStarter. The initial video about the game is very ... blah. And the video of the game? Well, the shadow character moves so slowly ... it makes what could be an exciting game appear a bit boring. I felt like time was dragging while watching it. Nice concepts, but not great execution (as far as I am concerned).

Agreed with RS3D. The execution could have been a lot better. Next to slow movement I found the story also quite superficial and there could have been much more detail in design and effects.

They also seem to be inspired by Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, though left that level of detail and action out of the game.

Thanks for the hint to Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet - looks very nice.
But, I don't see any similarities - because the main twist in In The Dark seemed to be IMO the avioding of and walking on light.

Concerning the "Nice concepts, but not great execution" - I didn't have a close look at the first video, because I felt like you, but I liked the Gameplay Video very much.

On the other hand, I recently bought "Limbo" - it was extremely promising concerning gameplay and grafics - but turned out at the second half as slipping into old gameplay conventions and had almost no story, and thus it was very disappointing although the grafics and sound was fantastic.

So, I didn't care in case of this game about grafics.
