My game uses joy_raw.z -- negative values are the left-trigger, and positive values are the right trigger. It means I can't detect if both are pressed at the same time (they cancel out), but my control panel can't detect if they're both pressed at the same time either, so I reckon it's a hardware/driver limitation.

EDIT: It may be the other way around with positive/negative -- my code seems to indicate as such.
