Here is the small game I've made today.
Game named: BALL PANIC
The aim of the game is simple, as simple as its design.
You need to play it as long, as its possible for you grin
Cameras speed will increase, there is no level end, so you'll play until you'll be able to.
Player has only 3 lives. May be in the future, I'll add life ups.
It's open source, so I hope someone will find it useful laugh
The only thing which isn't made by me, is a timer, I took it from the car template.
So please, tell us your best time laugh

oh, stop your sobbing. Sometimes i got stuck in the between two platforms. maybe add a jump or something... and make the timer correspond to a High score or something...

My best time was 2:15:255

Physics are nice but somewhat unrealistic and the ball moves way to fast imo.

Music is annoying, sorry. AND PLEASE STOP MAKING EVERYTHING FULLSCREEN. I hate it if everything is filled out by a game. And the graphics aren't good enough for fullscreen imo laugh

ambe, please explain, what you mean by sobbing?! Your idea with jumping is good, may be I'll add it. And there will be no high scope! May be you want me to make online one? Ehhm...
TheLiam, dude there is no physics at all. I used c_move only. I'll reduce the ball speed, if one more user will mention that. One thing I didn't understand, what you mean by fullscreen? Graphics are primitive, I know, but as I said, I made this game for one day (5 hours).

i think you know the difference betwenn fullscreen and windowed mode, don't you?
i also i think the ball is really too fast!
and yes, jumping has to be included, that's my opionion
and as an addition , create some sort of background!
it's really boring to play with no changing block type and background

Richi007, do you play usual games in windowed mode?!
I'm pretty sure, you don't! Well, when I'll make a menu, in options, you'll be able to toggle between windowed and fullscreen modes!
And, could some one tell me more about gameplay?! Not about the background and graphics!!!
I'll make ball slower and will add jumping, as well I'll add some life ups and some platforms with spikes!
And I'm thinking about adding items like, time slower (for 10-20 seconds, will reduce cameras speed), bombs (will push player away!).
What do you think about this? May be any ideas, that you would like to see in next demo? May be you have some ideas with changing graphics?

I usually play in windowed mode wink
The gameplay is simple and fun, but there are tons of game like yours. There is also a speed where it wasn't possible for me to change the platform (too fast, no other platform appreared). Sound isn't mine as I said. items would be nice but you should work on the grpahics. it is much harder to have good gameplay than good graphics but they help alot to increase the fun wink

I know, that there are allot of games like mine and I'm not going to make the best one wink
I'll work with platforms, so they will appear depending on the cameras speed.
I just faced problem with making that, I create them with the use of 'total_frames % 150'.
I try to use var for '150' and change it, so they will appear faster, but I fail...
One more thing, I try to create platforms randomly from the center of screen, like this:

but I fail too...
Any ideas?

Not bad, it kind of reminds me of the old Rapid Roll game found on some Nokia cellphones.

Some improvements that could be made:
  • Start the camera off at a faster speed while still increasing that speed as the game progresses, that way players are not waiting for the first platform to appear before they can play!
  • Set a minimum distance between platforms because sometimes they appeared too close together.
  • Set a minimum number of platforms available that the player can actually reach.
  • If the player dies, spawn them on top of a platform because sometimes you can get "spawn-killed".
  • The music used is unnecessarily large. Either compress or reduce the quality of the file, use alternative music, or remove it completely.
  • What happened to the spikes that appeared in your screenshot?
  • Start the game in windowed mode since it is a mini-game. Imagine playing a flash game in your web browser on full screen.
  • Allow the ball to be moved using the arrow keys; otherwise, make sure to clearly indicate in the game what keys should be used.
If you were wondering, my time was 1:50:748.
