Hi,

I'm trying to create a huge outdoor world and I'm wondering if there is any Shader that will allow me to create a terrain with more than 6 textures in High Def ( like blending external texture files using a base color chart to distribute the textures on the terrain). I think that more than one person will be benefit with the answers in this post.

Thank you in advance.

Yes, there is.
At least somewhere on my hdd wink but I currently can´t find the file -.-
There is also one in the gamestudio template shaders, but that one will get pretty slow with just a few textures. At least with a complex terrain.

if you need something special (Normalmapping, projective texturing, baked shadow map, parallax occlusion, detail map/s) you will probably find nothing but I am always ready for (payed) job grin

I recommend using PNP-Terrain Creator, and after creating the entire large world, export it as multiple height files. Use the 3 texture shader, but each zone can have 3 different ones from the one next to it. This way, zone 1 can have rock, gravel and sand where zone 2 right next to it can have grass, asphalt and metal.

If you are interested, check these videos out, you will cheat the system with shaders which will speed up your game and not reduce your FPS, yet give you an almost endless terrain system if done right.

That's a pretty good idea. I like that option. I'll try and I post the results but, right now I won't be able to do anything else (I'm going trough post-surgery process). But thanks guys son soon as I have something I'll post it.
