Ceo's Quest

Hi folks,
Here some screenshots from our latest project Ceo's Quest.
This game was made for an event which is taking place in the CEO's mansion of the company for which we created the game.
We had to build up the mansion in a way that it looks similar to the mansion in real life.

The employees of that company will play this game and the goal of the game is to give the employees the idea of how it is to be a CEO in an ironic way.

The player has to organize a meeting and has to talk to all 16 employees which are placed all over the enviroment.
There is also a little jump parcour in the basement in order to close the pool cover (to force the lazy employees to take part at the meeting).

Anoher task is to get the technician building up a TV station in the meeting room. The phone is ringing all the time to keep the player busy and to show how stressful the life of a CEO can be.

Video:

Enjoy. Coments and critics are welcome.

Cheers

Some rooms look really really realistic, nice work!

The outside areas are a bit more artificial and less convincing, but nice enough.

What's the idea of this virtual representation of the mansion? Is it to get the visitors familiar with the place or for pure entertainment?

so long...

Honestly the project as it stands looks good, interiors look fantastic but those characters are sound enough in detail but they are just to 'lit up' just add a specular map on them should sort it. A normal map wouldnt hurt either.

Hi there,
Sorry for the late reply.

The game was made for an event. I think it was a present for the ceo which is living in that mansion. So yes, I guess it was for pure entertainment.

Yea we've planed to give the project "more love" but there is no time left at the moment. Maybe we will work again on CEO's Quest in the near future and will then implement a couple of stuff which would give the game a better look in overall.

Thanks again for your nice comments.

Have a nice day and cheers

I'm not trying to be a naysayer here, but I've got mixed feelings about this. It does look very good in that it looks realistic. But it also looks very sterile and empty or even lifeless. That in itself can hardly be very entertaining.

I'm aware that this was mostly supposed to be realistic and that you probably had to follow certain serious rules, and at that you guys certainly did an excellent job.

But to me it looks, dare I say it, almost boring.

Don't get me wrong though, the amount of realism is impressive as always.

By the way, what ever happened to the Bee game?

Thanks all for your replies.
I totally agree with you Phemox, there sould be a lot of more stuff that bringing more life to the scenery. But because of the lack of time, we were not able to bring all the details, that we’ve planed.
Basically we have lost a lot of time by building up that mansion, just using some photos and some videos, that were captured while a public sightseeing tour. There was no possibility to visit the castle and taking some serious photos or to take the measurements of the compendium, because the whole thing was planned as a suprise and some freaks, that are running through the passages and shouting for a measuring tape, would have ruined it. smile

In the end we’ve found a approximately compedium on a website, that helped us a lot but it still was a pain in the ass.

The programming was also a rush, the gampeplay and the interface was done in about three weeks. Aboriginal we had three months for the whole thing, but after the complicated 3D modelling, the texturing and interface design and the life besides our jobs (family) … this wasnt really a big amount of time.

However, the posted comments here were all helpful and honestly as usual. I thank you guys with a link to a playble demo:

Ceo's Quest

It should run on every common Windows PC with a 3D card.
Please keep in mind that the game was designed for the person which is living in that mansion. So the target audience knows exactly where the telephones are =)

The gameplay and the goal of the game is well described in the pause menu (hit escape key). Unfortunately its all in german. The difficulty in that version is very high, so if anyone is able to finish the game, please post a screenshot of the ending screen, and I will spend you a beer whenever we will meet up =)

For your question about the Bee game, Bumble Bee Island is stucked in its progress. Im in the middle of porting it to Lite-C, but then Unity3D came out, and then I asked my self, if I ever will be able to finish that game or if I will be porting it to different languages / engines for the rest of my days.
Also the switch to Unity3D asks for a lot of motivation. It is hard sometimes, to learn all the things again, in a different way.
Often, I wish there was a way to combine those two engines, Lite-C in combination with the well designed workflow to import any 3D stuff and the ability to show off this content in a web browser, this would be awesome, wouldnt it?

However, Have a nice day and for those that are downloading Ceo’s Quest. Have fun while playing it.
