Chances are that if you're not in Washington DC or staying home from work today, you're going to be at your desk or otherwise out and about for the inauguration of Barack Obama. Fear not, you'll have plenty of viewing options:

Per the schedule, the swearing-in ceremony will start at 11:30 am ET, which will include Obama's inaugural address. After the address, Obama "will escort outgoing President George W. Bush to a departure ceremony", which ceremony I hope involves a kick in the ass and a slamming door. Then there's a luncheon at the Capitol and a parade to the White House that traditionally starts around 2:30 pm.

I was hoping to see Bush leave the White House, handcuffed and in an orange jumpsuit, but watching him fly away to obscurity in Texas was good enough for me.

Hahaha, yeah. A well, I'm sure Obama will need to prove himself first and that's going to be tough considering the current situation Bush left behind.

I also think Obama is going to be attacked for every misstep he will make. Don't forget both Clinton and Bush were very popular the first few years in office, but eventually it seems incredibly difficult to really change politics...

Cheers

Well, you do make a point. Especially european people have high expectations of Obama, but I do think he has a more conservative policy then most people think.

The first two years he will be cleaning up after Bush, which will be an extremely difficult task, as he left the country in shambles. Also, he has to meet expectations , wich he created with his vague campaign about change , which probably will exceed his capability as a leader of a country.

Let's just hope he will look at the issues in the world (especially in the middle-east) from an objective point of view and that he will not use war as an answer to those problems.
