I am now beginning to use WED, amd I'm following the Level Design - Practice tutorials from WED tutorial. I am to the "First Steps - The first Room - Part III". My house looks good with the textures I applied smile :), but when I build and run, it closes after it shows that it 'loaded house.wmb... 2 objects' confused.
I am wondering if this is because my files are not located in the right place. I have my files in the directory path GStudio7\my_resources\my_project01\wed_lesson01.
Should I place the elsewhere? Please help. I am realy eager to understand how to properly use this engine. Thanks

You didn't say wether it had an error or not, most likely it did and you have to move the file into your GStudio7 or 6 directory. Otherwise you have to change your script for that project in some way.

-Hope this helps. =)

That't something I was wondering about. Sometimes no error message is reported, the window just closes.

So are you saying I should move my files to the work folder (GStudio7\work)?

Is there a script? I just loaded objects and placed a camera.

I have located the problem. (I hope permenantly)
I reinstalled the program since I realized that I got the same problem even though I loaded just a cube and a start position.

After the installation I saw the 'key' in the readme that shows up AFTER THE INSTALLATION (Why is such an important note placed after the installation).

Here is part of that message:
"For Windows Vista we recommend to install Gamestudio and all projects to the Documents folder and not to the Program Files folder. The Program Files folder has the disadvantage that access rights to it are restricted under Vista. If you want to install it to the Program Files folder nevertheless, take care that you run all unlock or update programs as administrator."

I am using Vista.
I did as recommended.
Now my applications run fine. Even some of the samples that didn't run before.

Perhaps there are other Vista users out there having the same problem I had. Perhaps that clause in the readme should be broadcasted.

Anyway, I am happy that I got my builds running. I hope I don't encounter some other strange event, or surprise anymore.
