Draco Pangaia

Here are some screens from our upcoming game Draco Pangaia.
The game is an RPG set in medieval times. The story is a secret at the moment , as well as many other features such as our death system, combat system and menu system. These will all be revealed in time.

Ok, I don't post much on the forums because I'm busy acting as lead programmer and project manager for this team. However, I want to make one thing very clear. We are not the typical team. Here are a few reasons why:

1. Half of us are about 30 years old and have real jobs in addition to this.

2. I'm a professional programmer even in real life.

3. I've been working with this engine since the A4.

4. I have failed with other teams and have learned from those mistakes.

5. We have version control via subversion which all team members use.

6. We have project management via dotproject.

7. I have the formal education: (1 Bachelors in IT and an Associates in Software Engineering ).

8. I have over a decade of experience in Software Engineering from Requirement to Design (yes, I program for a living).

9. We communicate via TeamSpeak.

10. We have been constantly working for about 1/2 year so far and are on Alpha version 925 at this point. Yes, that's 925 updates via Subversion and we are still in alpha state.

Trok and Blade are two of the youngest members and this is where all the excitement comes from (us old fogies are too tired for all this excitement). However, I felt obligated to defend them as this project is far from Vaporware. In fact, I'm currently working on a quest building system which will allow anyone to make quests for any games (even other engines). It will be released as it's own project and sold to the community but we'll be using it for this game.

Nice list, but it's entirely missing the point.
You obviously have nothing engine made to show yet, so you fail the conditions of showcasing a project here.
You should have waited until you can present some screenshots from the actual game and not just renderings.

I don't understand why it's so hard to wait 'till you got some material to show? Now I see almost 4 identical pictures of a dragon on an arch, one very dark scene barely see-able and one nice sword in an -no offense here- ugly environment.

I'm going to sound like an ass now, but so be it. I don't care how good you are, and how much experience you got, I just want to see a good representation of a game here, and all I see is some externally rendered images where one if them is worthy enough to call it "pretty". The fifth one. No story, no promising features, nothing about the game type, no video's, not even some plans.

Put it in projects or wait until you got stuff to post here. But if you are already happy to show this, then I start to wonder how your game will look like...

I agree. I had no idea information about our project would be posted here. It should be moved to the projects.

Agreed and no offense taken. I believe this was placed in the wrong area. How do we go about moving it?

I think it's very welcome if you show game screenshots the next time smile
