that was uncalled for, and I honestly hope a bad gets involved somewhere. When a newb comes to this forum, they should be guided, not insulted.

I'll bet his 7 year old brother also has a more professional attitude as well.

Its strange when they repeat the rules of this catagory, they ALWAYS leave out the SECOND part of the 'rules'...

High school is the place for such attitude, but not here. Gamestudio doesn't have the "I look cool by insulting others' thread yet, as only children would apply. If you can do better than his project, then be professional and guide newcommers.

Try a professional, and mature sounding phrase, such as : "It's my opinion that this belongs in Projects, not Showcase. However since it's here... "

then show the world how smart you are by adding ADVICE to make it better or CONSTRUCTIVELY adding critiques.

My critique is that anyone completed a game with the templates at all deserves a medal! Congratulations, and now you're much wiser about what it takes to make a game, I'm sure you'll do good things with the experience that not many people have, including myself

Any project takes a good deal of patience to see through,and completing one is a great start. I remember when these forums were more supportive. Those who flame are just acting foolish. Why are people so overprotective of “Showcase”?

That said, I hope to see your next project a little more polished. Colored lighting just for the sake of it doesn't fit well. Lighting is dark as Bluebeast mentioned. The muzzle flash seems too big and too far off the weapon. Textures need some work. Maybe start by editing the included ones to be dirty or stained and go from there. And geometry is a bit blocky, which is hard to avoid when starting out and using WED, so it gets a pass here. You will soon learn models are the way to go.

All in all it is a great start, and it has given you a good understanding of how much work it takes to complete any game. Good luck in the future!

well the templates are realy usefull, but i must say: search new textures! und other gunhs models as these was comes whit a7 ^^
and a bit more detail in the levels/better lighting too and a changed hud
but so far everyone *mkay other the realy true geeks ;)*
has been started whit the templates..
btw: i still use the templates too xD
so dont let kicked down from others just try to give the best
what you can. ^^
