The customer wanted black, and since the car was gold to begin with, we figured gold would work best with his tan interior. I chose a brighter, yellow-er gold though since what they call gold these days is more like a tan metallic.
I actually just finished wet sanding/polishing it 1/2 an hour ago :P I'm usually quite modest about any artwork i do, but this job amazed me. Now i have 2 other people want the same thing for their cars! lol
I won't give them the same colors or style of checkered flag though, or noone would have something original! I do think about those things
As for that unhappy customer, I could have summed it up in just a few sentences and made him look more like an ass, but I figured I'd be gentle. Simply, he talked a big game, but in reality he didnt have much money, nor did he have the parts he claimed to have. He simply talked big.
No matter.
I do about 95% of the work myself. I have a friend who's out of work who helps me a lot, of course I pay him, he can mask and scuff, disassemble etc, but doesnt know bodywork. His help was invaluable however when I had 3 cars that needed to be done 'now'.
