I got lite-c, a fine product indeed making game developement a breeze, but why should I not be able to compile the executable for distribution?

yes, I know about the full version, thats why I mentioning non commercial in the subject, lite-c free supposed to be free for non commercial applications and games, but why does it have to be compiled on the fly as well, leaving projects unprtected

one scenario I can think of is, if I release something as non commercial, it will never go commercial if it gets popular, even if I buy the GameStudio licence as all the source would been leaked to all

also it prevents protection of massive multiplayer games, if they know the code, surely someone will ruin the game for all the rest

so all lite-c free is a tech demo for developers to dedide to buy or not or just to learn on it and never meant to distribute non commercial non open source games or applications

$29 is a very reasonable price to compile to an exe, if you needed to.
I would recommend sticking with conitec, even if you have to pay a little.
I would have to agree with you that the free version is to try it out,
though.

ofcourse I will buy it at some point, just have to get out of my debts for now though before I decide to buy a new toy, just pointed this out as it hit me when tried to show my brother what I made, not that he would know what those were anyways, but others would

Sorry. I recommend a few free options (you can
google them)

irrlicht
panda3d

these 2 would be best as far as the free ones
(they are very easy compared to others)
you wouldn't have to pay anyting to make
great stuff with these that would hide your code
(you have to download a free c++ to use them, also
live dev-c++ or visual c++ express edition)
Lite-C free is okay to practice, but if you really
want to get good, search for "open source",
although they tend to be harder to use
(I may loose money with commercial engines, but it saves me time).

also:
-ogre
-apocalyx
-crystalspace

was never good with C++, though I love C and C#, so will take a look at Panda3D as I see in the feature table of the lite-C versions that even with full version I do not get network support

Easy solution. Just stick with ur Lite-C free, then compile as usual (which will leave ur source code unprotected), then download 1 of these free tools:

1. 3DGS packer (personaly recommended)
2. NACASI (mostly recommended by the forumer and 3DGameStudio website)
3. GSTbuilder with GSTPacker plugin (somehow I manage to get it works only once)
4. When you have money, consider using MoleBox.

What these tools do?

They wrap the whole project (including dll, texture, source code, etc) into a single big .exe. So you can distribute ur project. You may find plenty of similar tools if you Google "free resource packer" but many of them can simpy be extracted using WinRAR or WinZIP (i mean no encryption).

Important note, some antivirus will detect compiled project by NACASI as trojan but it is not. Thats why I put NACASI as my 2nd recommendation.

Network solutions can be achieved through the GSTNet plugin (I hope this is the case with free lite-c as well?), or just code your own with a DLL.
