do you remember Obfuscator, the beginning of GSTools ?

I need some experienced programmers for testing this rewritten application. Please post any bugs and suggestions to the forum on my website or to webmaster@gstools.de.

With this little application you can obfuscate your script files made for conitec's
3DGamestudio game engine.
All script files are
- obfuscated (not easily readable by a human)
- concatenated in ONE file
- comments are stripped
- actions are NOT obfuscated (because actions could be defined in WED)

That's a great contribution, thanks a lot. I've visited your website first and was already wondering where could I download the tool, since you've written in the news that it has been released, but provided a link to an empty forum thread...

Obfuscation is a good way of protecting your work from people who don't want to invest any time into "de-Obfuscating" your code. But this can be done easily, so, this protection is less than relative (please don't take it as critics of your work - you're doing the great thing for us all). So, I still wish that some talanted C++ guy would create something like Thinstall, which will hide all our game resources from the potential hackers and which would cost some reasonable price (not like Thinstall)...

I have played with Obfuscator a bit longer and I like it even more. The only problem that I've seen (although it didn't really affect my game anyhow) was that when I changed the level script in map properties of WED, it has shown an error message saying - "Line too long!". But it worked fine anyway.

The last and very important thing: I think this tool is great and there will be many people who would use it with pleasure, but the main thing for you as it's author would be to refrain from creating some de-Obfuscating tool. Otherwise all these manipulations wouldn't make much sense...
